History

After entering the financial services sector with a large well known insurance company, Mr. Lakkides quickly became disillusioned with how financial planning was being used as a bait and switch tactic to sell life insurance. Rather than continuing to operate in this atmosphere, Mr. Lakkides left and established Cygnet Financial Planning, Inc. in 1982.

From day one, Cygnet’s mission has been to use financial planning as a tool to educate and empower people, regardless of their age, status, wealth, education or income, so that they can make sound financial decisions.

With an emphasis on truly helping and educating people, and by avoiding high pressure sales tactics and gimmicks, Cygnet has built a foundation of trust which allows us to continue to grow with a genuine consultative approach to service our clients enjoy.

And, with Mr. Lakkides’ son Brian poised to take the helm after 15 years working to build Cygnet into what it is today, you can be sure that Cygnet will stay true to its guiding philosophy and emphasis on customer service.
